Dawson County is currently seeking a Road Supervisor. This position manages and directs all aspects of the Road, Weed and Mosquito Department to ensure quality services are provided according to applicable policies and procedures. Duties include implementing departmental goals; overseeing the design and reconstruction of existing roads and bridges; supervising road maintenance projects; and maintaining roads, bridges and other County facilities as assigned. Duties also include administering the department budget, prescribing the times and places for all work to be done on county roads, and performing the other statutory requirements set forth for the County Road Supervisors.   In addition, develops and implements noxious weed management program including public education, prevention and control of weeds.

Cascade County is currently seeking a Registered Sanitarian (RS).  This position spends approximately 75% of their time performing routine and follow-up inspections of licensed establishments, provides information and education to establishment operators, determines if there are deficiencies and assesses the need for follow-up, training or enforcement action following inspections, accurately fills out inspection forms and effectively communicates concerns. Other duties may include assisting with review of construction or remodel plans of licensed establishments, teaching food safety and disease prevention classes to food service personnel and daycare providers, participating in communicable disease investigations, including rabies investigations, participation in emergency preparedness and response activities, preparing educational newsletters, performing soil evaluations and regulating installation of subsurface septic systems, assisting with training and certification of septic installers, reviews of subdivisions for sanitation requirements and working in the air quality program and other Environmental Health programs as required or assigned. Cascade County is currenlty seeking an Adult Detention Officer.  This position guards inmates in penal or rehabilitative institution in accordance with established policies, procedures and as directed for public safety; may guard inmates in transit between the detention center, courtroom, prison, or other points; under the direct supervision of the shift supervisor or general supervision of the facility command staff; responsible for maintaining a secure detention facility and the safe custody of all inmates; performs a variety of technical and administrative tasks associated with facility operations and the incarceration of inmates; work includes the observation and accompaniment of inmates inside and outside the detention center and related care record keeping requirements; officers may be assigned to work any shift; patience and firmness are required in frequent contacts with inmates who are violent (murderer’s, rapist, child molesters, fighters, etc.), suicidal, and mentally unstable; officers are also subjected to hazards associated with custody work including exposure to various hazards such as noise, a variety of physical conditions, close quarters and exposure to human body fluids; previous experience in a detention setting is desirable.
