The Children, Families, Health, and Human Services (CFHHS) Interim Committee will meet at 8:00 a.m. on September 11 in room 137 of the Capitol Building in Helena.

The full committee will review and adopt a revised work plan for the interim during its September meeting.

It also will begin receiving information on two of its assigned studies: prescription drug pricing and services for adults with developmental disabilities.

In addition, members will start their review of Medicaid expansion in Montana. They decided in June to devote a significant amount of time to that topic this interim because Montana's expansion will end in June 2019 without further legislative action.

The committee has set aside two hours to take comment on reductions proposed by the Department of Public Health and Human Services in the reimbursement rates paid to Medicaid providers. The committee has objected to several proposed rules that would reduce the rates and will decide during its September 11 meeting whether to continue or withdraw that objection. If members vote to continue the objection, DPHHS would not be able to reduce the rates as planned on October 1.

Committee discussion of the proposed rules is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m., with public comment starting at 12:45 p.m.

The meeting will be streamed live on the legislative website and also broadcast on Television Montana (TVMT). Check local channel listings to find TVMT in your area.
