At this organizational meeting, the committee will plan its work for the 2017-2018 interim. Along with its statutory duties, the committee will consider two studies approved by the Legislature and assigned to the LJIC by the Legislative Council. HJ 6 is a study of methamphetamine use and illegal use of opioids. SJ 25 is a study of the extent of the use of solitary confinement in Montana. Study documents and a proposed work plan for the committee are available on the website. There will be time for public comment on the studies and work plan.

The meeting will be streamed live online at www.leg.mt.gov and will be broadcast on Television Montana (TVMT). Please check your local channel listings to find TVMT in your area.
