The Energy and Telecommunications Interim Committee (ETIC) has just completed a publication to assist the public in learning about energy issues in Montana.

A Citizen's Guide to Montana Energy Law provides an overview of laws related to energy generation, transmission, and consumption in Montana. This handbook is similar to past editions of the Electricity Law Handbook. However, this edition has been updated to incorporate changes in energy law enacted by the 2013 Legislature. It includes an abbreviated summary of state laws -- organized by type of energy resource -- that provide for the regulation and taxation of those resources. Laws that provide incentives for the development of energy resources are also included.

If you'd like copies, please respond to this notice and include your name and address. If you have questions about the publication or the ETIC, contact Sonja Nowakowski at (406)444-3078 or
