Please be advised that while you may see an increase in market value you may not see a commensurate increase in your taxable value or your taxable value may have decreased.  This is due to reporting the full reappraisal values of residential, commercial, and agricultural property instead of the taxable market value that had been previously reported.

Opportunity for Public Comment - Draft EIS - Bison Conservation & Management in Montana

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is seeking public comment on a statewide bison conservation and management Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) that evaluates opportunities for bison restoration somewhere in Montana.  The EIS considers four alternatives, one of which is a no action alternative. Three alternatives evaluate broad scenarios for bison restoration on different types of land, i.e., private, public or tribal, and at different herd size scales.

Publication of The Interim, the monthly newsletter of legislative activities, has resumed. The June 2015 issue is now available online. The newsletter contains information on:

  • appointment of legislators to interim committees;
  • assignment of interim studies to the various committees; and
  • upcoming meetings of the interim committees.
