Sue O'Connell, Legislative Analyst & Staffer, Children, Families, Health & Human Services Interim Committee

The Children, Families, Health, and Human Services Interim Committee will be looking for ideas from mental health providers and others interested in Montana's system of children's mental health services when it meets next month in Billings.

The committee is charged with developing a bill for a pilot project to improve outcomes for youth in the publicly funded mental health system and to link provider reimbursements to documented outcomes. The guidelines for the pilot project are outlined in House Bill 422.

Committee members will be seeking comment at their Nov. 19 meeting on the elements that should be included in the pilot project legislation. For more information on providing comment at the meeting, please see the news release posted on the committee's website.

Individuals who are interested in providing comment but who are unable to attend the Billings meeting in person may submit their comments in writing to the committee's staffer, Sue O'Connell, by e-mail or regular mail at P.O. Box 201706, Helena, MT 59601-1706.

More information about the HB 422 study is available on the committee's HB 422 webpage.
