There are two new resources available related to state-tribal relations (linked above).

  • A list of legislation that passed during the 2017 Session pertaining to tribal relations and tribal nations or of particular interest in Indian Country. Please contact Hope Stockwell at 406-444-9280 or hstockwell@mt.gov if you have any questions.
  • A new Census tool for tribal data. It includes population, employment, housing, income, and education-related data from the 2011-2015 American Community Survey.

At its final meeting on Sept. 7, the State-Tribal Relations Interim Committee approved a bill for the 2013 legislative session and agreed to send letters to federal and state officials on three different topics.

The State-Tribal Relations Committee of the Montana Legislature met with the Executive Board of the Fort Peck Sioux and Assiniboine tribes April 4 and 5 in the Greet the Dawn Building on the Fort Peck Community College campus in Poplar.
