A Resolution to Support HR1581
It is the intent of the Montana Association of Counties to MACo support HR1581 to release all Wilderness Study Areas (WSA’s) and Inventoried Roadless Areas (IRA’s) which have been recommended or evaluated as not suitable for wilderness by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the United States Forest Service (USFS).

It is the intent of the Montana Association of Counties to support legislation that would require the Montana Department of Military Affairs to reimburse counties for increase veterans’ interment allowances.

Amending the Interagency Bison Management Plan
It is the intent of the Montana Association of Counties to seek amendments to the Inter-Agency Bison Management Plan that will allow the Counties adjacent to Yellowstone National Park to be a signatory to any agreement involving bison management in the state of Montana.

It is the intent of the Montana Association of Counties to support granting counties the flexibility to increase the number of members available to serve on the county tax appeal board.

It is the intent of the Montana Association of Counties to seek amendment to the Montana Code to allow counties to set a speed limit on un-paved County Roads of 25 miles-per-hour to control dust.

EMT-First Responders Certification
It is the intent of the Montana Association of Counties to encourage the Board of Medical Examiners to provide Montana First Responder Volunteers convenient testing venues in order to complete testing and certification requirements in a reasonable time frame with minimal travel at their own expense.

It is the intent of the Montana Association of Counties to seek legislation to exempt permissive levies enumerated in 15-10-420(9)(a) from Tax Increment Finance distributions.

It is the intent of the Montana Association of Counties to seek legislation to exempt the levy for Group Benefits under 15-10-420(9)(a)(vi) from Tax Increment distributions.

It is the intent of the Montana Association of Counties to seek and support legislation to extend the timeframes for the application for access roads constructed prior to 1997 on State Trust land.
