The Montana Association of Counties is seeking a Claims Support Specialist for its workers compensation and property and liability public entity risk sharing pools.  This position provides a variety of administrative and technical support to the Workers Compensation and Property & Liability Claims Department.  Employees in this position must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships, and work in a high volume and time sensitive environment.    This position has extensive contacts with MACo members, MACo staff, governing Boards, participating member groups, and claimants.

Knowledge of current practices of administrative support functions, including communications standards, business writing and editing, memorandum and letter composition, filing and document retrieval methods, and support capacity to a department head and other designated staff is required.

Knowledge of insurance (workers compensation and/or property and casualty) claims processing is preferred.

Successful applicants are required to possess a high school diploma or equivalent; and a minimum of one year related experience.

Any equivalent education, experience, and/or training which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the required essential functions of the position will be considered.

Salary is $14.50 per hour, with consideration of an increase following successful completion of a 6 month probationary period.  MACo offers a generous benefit package including health insurance (including dental and vision), 401k retirement contribution, vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay.
