As of February 25th you may have noticed that MACo has a new employee, Dan O’Malley. Even though this announcement is coming a few months late, we are very excited to welcome him to our MACo team! O’Malley is filling the vacant Senior Public Safety Loss Control Specialist position for the PCT and the WCT.
Some Interesting O’Malley Facts:
- O’Malley recently retired as a Detective after 23 years with the Lewis & Clark County Sheriff’s Office

- As a narcotics officer, he has experience working with numerous Sheriffs’ Offices and detention centers across the state.
- In 2015, he received the Montana Sheriff and Peace Officer (MSPOA) Deputy of the year award.
- His son is MMA fighter Sugar Sean O’Malley.
Many of you have met O’Malley recently during our District tour around Montana or at one of the many meetings he has had with Sheriffs in various counties. If you haven’t had the chance to meet the MACo newb (a.k.a. “new employee”), be sure to give him a warm welcome when you do!
