After the most expensive election in U.S. history, President Barack Obama was reelected to a second term. In the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, Americans voted to maintain the status quo of split party control — a Democratic-led Senate and Republican-led House — even as more than 90 new faces will grace the halls of Congress.

As the Administration and Congress now turn their attention to the critical issues facing our country, the outcome of the 2012 elections will have a significant impact on many of the decisions that will be made. To enable you to have a better understanding of the implications of the elections, the NACo Legislative Affairs Department has prepared this analysis, “U.S. Election Insight – 2012.”  Please click the links about to access this analysis.
