2016-2017 Lodging Rates

The General Services Administration has announced new lodging rates effective for travel beginning October 1, 2016.

  • The standard rate increased from $89 to $91
  • Gallatin County increased from $91 to $93, except for June - September when it is $152
  • Butte increased from $93 to $94
  • Glendive - Sidney dropped from $146 to $122
  • Helena increased from $92 to $95
  • Missoula, Polson, Kalispell remained unchanged at $95 for Oct - June and Sept, but increased from $136 to $140 for July and August

The mileage reimbursement rate of $0.54 for the first 1000 miles in a calendar month and three cents less over 1000 miles does not change until January and has not yet been announced by the IRS.

Meal rates are set in statute for meals without receipts.  Actual cost is paid with receipts.
In-State Meal Rates:  $5 for the morning meal, $6 for the midday meal, and $12 for the evening meal

Out-of-State Meal Rates:  $11 for the morning meal, $12 for the midday meal, and $23 for the evening meal
