The Environmental Quality Council has just completed a publication to assist the public in learning about eminent domain in Montana.  Eminent Domain in Montana provides an overview of eminent domain laws in Montana.

2012 Eminent Domain Handbook Available

The Environmental Policy Office has available the newest edition of its Eminent Domain Handbook. The Environmental Quality Council first produced the handbook after a 1999-2000 study to help citizens better understand the state's eminent domain laws. The 2012 edition reflects changes made to these laws during the last legislative session.

New EQC Publication - 2012 Permit Index

The Environmental Quality Council office has available the latest edition of the Montana Index of Environmental Permits, a reference guide published by the EQC since 1976 that describes the permits and licenses required for activities that affect the state's environment.

Updated Water Quality & Water Quantity Handbooks

The EQC has just published updated copies of two of its citizens guides:  Water Rights in Montana, which explores Montanans' right to use water, and A Guide to Montana Water Quality Regulation, which delves into water quality standards required under the federal Clean Water Act and the state Water Quality Act.

The Environmental Quality Council has just completed two new publications: Permitting in Montana, DEQ - a reference guide to air quality, opencut mining and wastewater permitting; and Permitting in Montana, DNRC - a reference guide to oil and gas drilling and ground water permitting.
