ATTN: Montana Commissioners & Road Supervisors

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) has posted the proposed Administrative Rules for the Bridge and Road Safety and Accountability (BARSAA) – A.K.A - Gas Tax, program as established by the 2017 Montana Legislature.

The following is a link to MDT’s Notice of Proposed Adoption, MAR 18-165, which was filed with the Secretary of State on October 2, 2017.  Please note the comment end date is November 10, 2017: http://www.mdt.mt.gov/pubinvolve/scripts/newsdata.pl?newname=20171012-18...

Comments may be submitted to Larry Flynn, P.O. Box 201001, Helena MT 59620-1001 or eflynn@mt.gov until 5:00 PM November 10, 2017

A hearing is not being proposed, however if 25 commenters request a hearing, one will be held.

MACo, the League of Cities and Towns, and the Montana Infrastructure Coalition have worked with the MDT on drafting the proposed rules.  We feel the proposed rules meet the language and intent of  House Bill 473.
