Attached is a memorandum from regarding County Jail Contract renewals and rate calculations. MSPOA, MACo, Cascade and Fergus County Commissions, Department of Justice, Montana Highway Patrol, and the Department of Corrections have been working on this project over the past year.  All parties agreed that is beneficial to provide a consistent method of calculating the per diem rates for county detention centers. 

Montana Absentee Voting

Absentee voting is underway across Montana.  As of Oct 10th, there were 241,078 absentee ballots sent out of the 666,274 registered voters, or 36.18% of the total.  Yellowstone county has the highest percentage of absentee voters with 55.58% and Wibaux the lowest at 9.5%.

Change in SRS/25-Percent Payment Elections Due Date

The Montana Counties' SRS / 25-percent elections have been received.  We have learned today from USDA that the Secretary of Agriculture has established a new  due date for 25-percent payments or SRS payments, elections -- changing the legislation’s August 1 due date to late in September.
