Employee Assistance Program Available Through MACoHCT

Active employees enrolled in a MACo Health Care Trust medical plan and employees with Employer Paid Life Insurance have access to UNUM’s work-life balance employee assistance program (EAP).

The EAP services provided by UNUM through the MACo Health Care Trust are provided at no cost for the employee and anyone in the same household.

EAP service and are strictly confidential – no information will be shared with the MACo Health Care Trust or your employer.

EAP services include:

  • Up to three face-to-face counseling sessions for help with personal or work-related issues
  • Referrals to local mental health providers for on-going counseling
  • Unlimited access to mater’s-level consultants by telephone
  • Financial consultations, calculators and retirement planners
  • Will preparation tools
  • Legal consultations
  • Referrals to local attorneys with discounted rates
  • On-line booklets, articles and guides
  • On-line videos, seminars and podcasts
  • Email newsletter subscriptions
  • Locating child care and elderly care services
  • Health management resources including weight loss and exercise programs
  • Management and supervisor resources to resolve conflicts and motivate employees
  • 24/7 world-wide travel assistance

Health Care Trust Retiree Medicare Plan

MACo Health Care Trust Retiree PlanThe MACo Health Care Trust and Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare AdvantageSM have partnered to offer a Group Medicare Advantage Plan to retired, Medicare eligible MACo Health Care Trust members.

The MACo Health Care Trust Group Medicare Advantage Plan includes:

When retirees enrolled in the traditional MACo Health Care Trust Plan become Medicare eligible, they will receive information in the mail about how to enroll in the MACo Health Care Trust Group Medicare Advantage Plan administered through Blue Cross Blue Shield. Although MACo Health Care Trust Medicare eligible retirees will not have the option to stay on, or return to, the traditional MACo Health Care Trust Plan, the MACo Health Care Trust is confident that our

Medicare eligible retiree members will receive the outstanding benefits and have less out-of-pocket costs in the long run.

Medicare retirees must be eligible for Part A and enrolled in Part B to take advantage of the MACo Health Care Trust Group Medicare Advantage Plan.
If a Medicare retiree currently has coverage for their spouse who is less than 65 years of age, the spouse will be eligible to remain on the traditional MACo Health Care Trust plan until they reach 65 year of age. Once the spouse reaches 65 years of age they will be eligible to transition over to the MACo Health Care Trust Group Medicare Advantage Plan.

MACo Health Care Trust & Caremark Announce New Benefit

The MACo Health Care Trust is announcing a new benefit for the Trust members and their families made available by Caremark. The Trust is pleased to offer the CVS Caremark ExtraCare® Health Card, a benefit that can save money on the health-related items you use most.  This program launched on March 1, 2012.
