Lifetime Flathead Valley resident, Joe Arlee DeLong, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019.  He was 89 years old. Joe was born on July 13, 1929, to Milton A. and Ruth A. DeLong in Somers.  He attended elementary school in Somers and graduated from Flathead County High School.

The new annual 9-1-1 Grant Program is a state-funded program created by the 2017 Legislature with the purpose of supporting the implementation, operation, and maintenance of 9-1-1 systems, equipment, devices, and data.

FY 2020 & FY 2021 County Attorney Salary Projections (State Share)

The Montana Department of Justice has prepared a spreadsheet with the projected quarterly county attorney salary amounts for each county for the 2021 Biennium. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7-4-2502, MCA, the funding for the salary and health insurance benefits for the county attorney is a shared responsibility of the state and the county, for services performed by the county attorney for the state.

U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao Announces $1.5 Billion in BUILD Transportation Grants to Revitalize Infrastructure Nationwide

WASHINGTON – U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao today announced $1.5 billion in discretionary grant funding to 91 projects in 49 states and the District of Columbia. The grants are made through the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) Transportation Grants program and support road, rail, transit, and port infrastructure projects across the country.

FFY 2018 Federal Forest Reserve Payments Released

In accordance with the Secure Rural Schools (SRS) Act, P.L. 115-141 reauthorized March 23, 2018, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service processed payments to states the week of April 12th.  Montana’s total payment is $14,176,880.59; however, with the 6.2% sequestration reduction, the total payment amounts to $13,297,913.99.
