The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and the United States Secret Service (USSS) urge all Americans to be on the lookout for criminal fraud related to these economic impact payments—particularly fraud using coronavirus lures to steal personal and financial information, as well as the economic impact payments themselves—and for adversaries seeking to disrupt payment efforts.

COVID-19 Department of Revenue Property Assessment Updates

The Property Assessment Division (PAD) staff, for the most part is still working remotely. PAD does have a limited number of people working in offices where the space allows for social distancing and other COVID-19 safety protocols can be met. The division has not started to open their offices up to the public yet; they will begin to develop plans to do so this week. They will coordinate with local government officials as we move forward in these planning activities.

Governor Bullock Announces Coronavirus Relief Fund Task Force

Governor Bullock has announced the establishment of a Coronavirus Relief Fund Task Force to provide guidance and advice on how to best use $1.25 billion appropriated to Montana through the Federal CARES Act to assist workers, businesses, and sectors of the economy impacted by COVID-19. The Task Force includes 24 Montanans from various sectors, of which MACo Executive Director, Eric Bryson, has been appointed a seat.  MACo thanks Governor Bullock for including local government in the creation of this important group.

Report Analyzes COVID-19 Cases in Montana

Governor Steve Bullock today released a report produced by state epidemiologists examining 377 cases of COVID-19 in Montana that helps the state understand who is impacted by the new virus, how it spreads, and patient outcomes.
