Join us in Granite County's Beautiful Town of Phillipsburg!

Date: May 29, 2026, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Location: Granite County Museum,135 South Sansome St., Phillipsburg, MT

MACo Districts 8, 9 and 12 will convene on May 29 at 9:00 a.m. This year’s meeting is hosted by Granite County in Phillipsburg at the Granite County Museum,135 South Sansome St.

Please RSVP so they have an accurate headcount for lunch (approximately $20 per person). Click here to open a pre-populated email and add whomever is attending and/or the number of attendees.

If that doesn’t work, email the Granite County Commissioners directly at commissioner@co.granite.mt.us.

Agenda

The agenda includes the election of District 8’s chair and vice chair. These are key leadership roles, as the chair also serves on MACo’s Board of Directors and represents the counties within the district.

Attendees will hear reports from MACo officers, receive association updates, and review the preliminary FY 2027 budget. Additional discussions will cover transportation, emergency services, land use, and public safety. With the 2027 legislative session approaching, MACo’s policy process will be outlined and resolutions gathered.

Additionally, district meetings mark the opening of nominations for MACo officers. This year we will be accepting names for 2nd Vice President. (Note Fiscal Officer is a 2-year term elected every odd-numbered year, as per the bylaws, so that election will be next year.)

The meeting will conclude with a Q&A session and opportunity to discuss issues affecting the counties in your area.

Please remember to invite your area legislators, so they can hear these important conversations.

A Note from Granite County...

Parking is limited directly outside and around the museum, but you can park on Broadway and walk up the street to it. The museum will be open for all to tour as well, and it is worth checking out!

In addition, the catering will be provided by Zia’s Restaurant. We’re planning a menu that may include sandwiches, garden salad, charcuterie, and light pasta. We’re aiming to keep the cost around $20 per person. We’ll also have beverages and some snacks available throughout the day.
