Commissioner Dennis Zander, Dawson County

I was elected in 2016 and currently serve as the Dawson County Commission Chair.

MACo Participation

I have served on MACo’s Energy Committee since joining the Association while attending the District and State MACo meetings, and as of recent the virtual meetings. I also worked with the MACo staff in sponsoring and testifying for a bill that passed in the last legislative session to improve RSID options.

National, Statewide, and/or Community Involvement

I belong to several engineering societies. For my alma mater, Montana Tech, I am a past Chairman of the Petroleum Industrial Advisory Board and was awarded the Distinguished Alumni honor. I am a Past Exulted Ruler of the Glendive Elks Lodge #1324 and a current Director of the Glendive Trap Club.

Special Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Education

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering with a 25-year career that started as a field engineer and ending as an executive vice president. I have several published papers and extensive training in leadership, along with executive training at the University of Texas.

Share How You Will Serve the Membership as MACo 2nd Vice President

I will continue to be involved in MACo, learning the ropes in order to prepare for my service as 1st VP and ultimately MACo President. It would truly be an honor to serve all Montana Counties.
