MACo MCT Offers Free Telecom Cost Reduction Analysis

A Telecom Cost Reduction Analysis (TCRA) is a detailed evaluation of a county’s telecommunications expenses aimed at identifying cost-saving opportunities. This process involves assessing all telecom services, including phone systems, internet connectivity, mobile plans, and equipment costs. By conducting a TCRA, counties can optimize spending, negotiate better vendor rates, consolidate services, and implement more efficient solutions. The ultimate goal is to reduce telecom costs while maintaining or enhancing service quality.

Benefits

  • Free for local government entities
  • Complete transparency – MCT will show you the best services for the best price point, even if that is the county’s current service provider
  • Access to options – we filter the service provider based on the county’s specific objectives
  • MACo MCT leverages competing service providers on the county’s behalf
  • An inventory of current services can often uncover billing errors and unused services
  • Save staff time and gain knowledgeable advisors – we act as an extension of the county’s team, providing recommendations tailored specifically to each county’s goals

Process

  • Sign a letter of engagement
  • Provide copies of phone/internet bills
  • Provide copies of contracts
  • Sign a letter of authorization for MCT to contact current service providers
  • Meet with MCT to discuss current and future needs
  • Allow MCT two weeks to two months to complete the analysis (length of time to complete depends on the complexity of services)
  • Once the analysis is complete, MCT will discuss all available options and make recommendations
