Salary or Pay Rate: $105,000 – $110,000 per year

Position Description
Summary
Powell County is seeking to hire a County Attorney for the remainder of the outgoing county attorney’s term (end date December 31, 2026).
The Powell County Attorney represents the County in all civil legal matters and prosecutes criminal cases on behalf of the State of Montana. The County Attorney is expected to fulfill all of the duties described in Montana law for this elected official position. The individual works independently and handles a broad array of misdemeanor and felony cases, advises department heads, county boards, and the County Commission, drafts legal opinions, and reviews various county contracts and agreements.
Qualifications
Eligible applicants must be a US citizen, Montana resident for at least 2 years, and practicing Montana attorney for at least 3 years.
