Will work in a multi-classification correctional and detention institution for adult misdemeanor and felony offenders ~ take fingerprints and identification photographs; complete detention records; search prisoners; maintain constant supervision and surveillance over prisoners and visitors; supervise inmate laborers; and other related duties as assigned.
Full-time position, working 12-hour shifts, either days or nights. Schedule will be 3 days on, 3 days off, then 4 days on, 4 days off.
$16.34 per hour to start; $18.59 per hour to start effective 6-1-19. (Benefit package is equivalent to a $8.90 per hour benefit for a total compensation package of $25.24 per hour; $27.49 per hour total compensation package effective 6-1-19 . Benefits include: 20-year retirement system, health insurance, life insurance, optional vision/dental, vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays. Additional optional benefits: flex plan, health savings account, AFLAC and Colonial insurance plans, Nationwide retirement 457 B Plan. Dawson County has a boarding house that is offered to DCCF employees at $400.00 a month per room, which includes utilities, cable TV and wifi. Queen size bed in each room; individuals share the bathrooms and common areas.
