The MACo Health Care Trust (HCT) was awarded recognition at the Association of Governmental Risk Pool (AGRiP) conference in Orlando, Florida on March 2, 2020. MACo HCT Board Vice Chair, Custer County Commissioner, Kevin Krausz ,and Board Member, Garfield County Commissioner, Jerry Collins, were present to receive the award on behalf of MACo.
The AGRiP Advisory Standards were developed by the Membership Practices Committee (MPC) and is a set of regularly updated pooling best practices covering 10 categories and over 80 standards, including but not limited to Governance, Financial Solvency, Operational practices, Business Continuity, and Member Services.
The MACo HCT underwent a rigorous self-audit of internal practices and operational procedures to demonstrate that the pool is operating at a high level of efficiency and effectiveness. Pools renew recognition every 3 years using an online application and MPC review process. Only one quarter of AGRiP member pools have achieved recognition.
