On December 18th, MACo and the Local Government Center hosted a virtual “townhall” to provide Montana’s counties with a venue and opportunity to share and learn from the situations and best practices in their communities around the state as well as receive pertinent updates during this unprecedented time.
During the fifteenth and final session of the year in our series of Virtual Townhalls, MACo fielded questions about the new guidance implemented on November 30th for the final cycle of the Local Government Reimbursement Program. This program was was created by the State out of the $1.25 billion in CARES Act dollars. $200 million was put into the program to reimburse local governments for COVID-related expenses. The discussion included a robust question and answer period.
MACo also gave updates about the upcoming legislative session. The discussion included a robust question and answer period.
If you missed this session and would like to see what happened or listen to the discussion, a recording of the meeting is posted below for your viewing pleasure.
We are receiving great feedback from these virtually-hosted events and plan to continue them, so stay tuned for the next MACo & LGC Townhall in 2021!
