Current MACo Policy Book & Archives
MACo’s legislative process relies on the active engagement of all member counties. The policies and resolutions in this book received the members’ endorsement at our annual conference and reflect the collective consensus of MACo membership.
MACo’s Policy Book consolidates key positions, issues, and objectives identified by members as priorities for county government. It is divided into two sections: Committee Policy Statements and Resolutions.
Policy Statements: These statements serve as a guide for MACo staff, legislators, and the public, outlining MACo’s stance on potential legislation or issues that may emerge during legislative sessions or interim periods.
Resolutions: A resolution is a formal motion, adopted by MACo members in a deliberative assembly, that benefits county government. It proposes legislative changes to address specific challenges and, if passed, may lead to new or amended laws.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: MACo resolutions are proprietary and may not be reproduced or distributed to support or oppose any legislative bill without prior approval from MACo Administration or a MACo member.
